Abbas’s militias kidnap five Hamas supporters including son of detained MP

RAMALLAH, (PIC)– Militias loyal to former PA chief Mahmoud Abbas kidnapped five supporters of Hamas Movement over the past couple of days including the son of MP Hassan Yousef, who is held in Israeli occupation jails.

Local sources said that Mohammed Hassan Yousef, a Bir Zeit University student, was previously detained several times by those militias.

Abbas’s militias kidnapped a Jerusalemite after summoning him in Badu village, north of occupied Jerusalem, and another one from Nablus only few days after his release from those militias’ jails.

In Salfit, two Palestinians were abducted with one of them reportedly suffering fractures in his teeth and pelvis due to severe interrogation rounds.

In a clear exchange of security roles, the Israeli occupation forces rounded up two Palestinians who were recently released from Abbas’s jails in Nablus and Qalqilia.

Hamas MPs denounced the “rabid” campaign by those militias and their detention of the sons of two MPs Hassan Yousef and Riyadh Raddad in Ramallah and Tulkarem, respectively.

They noted in a statement on Thursday that those militias release some detainees and round up more, which constantly increases the number of the detainees.

The lawmakers warned that such campaigns only “poison” the reconciliation atmosphere.

For its part, the international Tadamun (solidarity) society for human rights in Washington condemned Abbas’s militias for kidnapping the Palestinian journalist and human rights activist Ahmed Hamed Al-Beitawi, who is also the son of an MP.

Abbas’s militias kidnapped Beitawi ten days ago and was still holding him without indictment and without proper legal procedures, Tadamun elaborated.

It demanded his immediate release as a journalist and a human rights activist whose work does not violate any laws.

Meanwhile, the illegitimate government of Salam Fayyad, formed by Abbas without parliament approval, continued its dismissal of teachers, for supporting Hamas or resistance, and fired four teachers including a man and his wife in a Qalqilia village and two others, including a woman, in the city itself.
